Tapestry's Comprehensive Mental Health Treatment Program

Our Comprehensive Mental Health Treatment program is for:

  • Emotionally disturbed children between the ages of 8 and 12;
  • Children with full-scope Medi-Cal eligibility;
  • Children who meet the standard of medical necessity for Medi-Cal Mental Health Services (including a significant impairment in two or more life domains) and are likely to benefit from the program;
  • Children in the Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program;
  • Children who are referred by County Mental Health Services and County Department of Social Services.

Focus Areas of Treatment

Our treatment plan focuses on common mental health disorders for children, impulse control, affect awareness and tolerance, behavior management, empathy training, social skill development and relationship building.

Program Components

  • Individual and family therapy
  • Peer groups, focusing on building self-esteem and social skills
  • Individualized behavior modification plans
  • A safe and structured treatment environment where each child can practice using alternate responses to real life situations
  • Relationship enhancement training for families

Individual Client Plans

Children are individually assessed upon referral to Tapestry. Based on each child's unique needs, we design a treatment plan that identifies self-defeating behaviors, collaboratively sets treatment goals and objectives, engages the child in a treatment environment and builds on the child's strengths.
