Treatment and Intervention at the After School Program
A Safe and Structured Treatment Environment with Therapeutic Activies
A unique aspect of Tapestry's services, the After School Program is a safe
and structured treatment environment where each child can practice
using alternate responses to real life situations, with counselors
present to help the child gain mastery. The After School Program uses a broad
range of therapeutic activities, including art, drama, a ropes
challenge course, an equestrian program, a workshop, Capoeira,
wilderness living skills, non-competitive sports, etc., to
encourage self-expression, self-awareness, individuation, and
communicate acceptance and belonging, and to develop the ability to
participate in positive relationships with peers and caregivers. (See the Photo Tour.)
Over time, the successful acquisition of these skills allows children to form healthy relationships, make appropriate academic progress, and move to less restrictive environments.
Door to Door Service
Tapestry transports children from home or school to the After School Program and home again, Monday through Thursday,
all year.
