Payments to Foster Families
Foster families are paid a monthly amount to cover the costs associated with caring for the children. The payments are not considered earned income and are tax-free.
Treatment Foster Care Program
The monthly payment is based upon the age of each child as shown here.

| 15-18 | $880 |
Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program
Children in the Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program require more care and attention, therefore the monthly payment is higher.

Reimbursement for Mileage
Foster parents are reimbursed for transporting children to and from treatments, interventions and special activities at a rate of 31 cents per mile.
Clothing Allowance
An annual clothing allowance ranging from $269-$488 per year is available for most children.
