Requirements
We're looking for people with the desire and ability to be a professional caregiver for children with emotional challenges.
Tapestry foster parents can be single or married, male or female, and can rent or own homes.
If you'd like to help a Tapestry foster child but don't think you can be a full-time foster parent, you can also assist by offering respite care. Respite providers give families breaks for brief periods, anything from overnight to several days.
Compensation is provided to respite caregivers. (See our respite page).
Procedure
The certification process involves the completion of an application and other forms, followed by a background clearance and home/family assessment.
Training
Training is provided by Tapestry staff and through referral to other training resources. Tapestry pays training stipends as foster parents complete specific training milestones.
