About Us

Tapestry Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization formed to develop and provide programs and services that support and advance the health and well-being of children with special needs and their familes.

As the name implies, our programs are designed to weave an array of services around children and families. Like a tapestry, the service threads are linked and related, with the specific pattern of services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual child.

Tapestry's Integrated Placement and Treatment Program includes:

• A Licensed Treatment Foster Care Program through which children who are unable to function in their own homes or in regular foster care are cared for and nurtured by trained and supported foster familes.
• An Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program designed to provide care and nurturing for children whose care needs exceed the capacity for the Treatment Foster Care Program.
• A Comprehensive Mental Health Treatment Program for emotionally disturbed children and their families.
• A Therapeutic After-School and Summer Activities Program located at the Methodist Church (270 N Pine St, Ukiah) and other sites around Ukiah. This program is designed to help children manage their emotions and behavior and develop greater self-esteem.

A major goal for Tapestry is to enable local children with emotional challenges to remain in our community and thrive here. Our services are coordinated to form an integrated program of care and treatment for children and a high level of support for families - foster families, adoptive families and birth families.
